The Twin Islands, off the coast of Avaron, was an interesting, bloody, somewhat romantic, and very tragic land with similar history. The northern island, Toyokita, was a relatively calm land, with soft, rolling hillsides and wide, expansive plains, with villages dotted across its golden fields of grain, cultivated by the natives. There stood but a single city in the entire island, which ruled over it all with a grand garrison, tall, imposing towers that could be seen from the Avaronian mainland. This massive fortress was located in Batari, which contained one of its two major ports, called Baliviur. This port ferried those from their island to the southern island, Kazym Island. While Toyokita suffered little before the meeting of this strange culture just a few kilometers south of them, once the Toyokitans landed a small fleet on Kazym's northern shore (In Dolinari), the southern natives were outraged this group of random settlers thought it fit to sail across the gap and try to claim that land. Now, before we get into the MASSIVE war between the islands, let us inspect the outline of our other contender, Kazym Island. This land, aptly named, was a hostile land, full of mountains and deep crags that dropped into cavernous pits flooded by thrashing and roaring rivers, that leaped, twisted, and crashed into the hardened stone, still ever carving the black stone. There are multiple cities on the island, and they each ruled similarly, being sibling monarchs. They ruled firmly, but justly. The ungodly rivers that snaked through and around the cities do not just stand as a reminder that Mother Nature can be cruel, but also as a source of crude electric energy, powering only the most important machines in the cities. The cities themselves, unlikes Toyokita's tall, small city, were short, but massively wide, at one point two cities merged, becoming one massive centre of trade and talk, and this city was called Kayzina, located on the border between the 'territories' of Kazym and Dolinari. Now that the islands are set... Let's see them go to war. Once the Toyokitans landed on the Kazymish coast for the first time, it took them (The 'invaders') a few days to actually get anywhere near inhabited lands, since the coast they landed on was at the time bare, a massive black beach. Once they were spotted by an small outreaching village, however, they were set upon by a few tens of men, who quickly sent the sailors hightailing it back to Baliviur, where they relayed this message of pure hostility. The monarch, a lovely lady by the name of Jaunoi de la Roulpa Vie, was outraged, and demanded to see the ruler of this vile land just a few miles below what she thought was their entire world. Surprisingly, the ruler of Kazym Island, a man by the name of Verge du Vaouscht, was very pleased to meet with the one above him, of which he knew of for a while before the small excursion from the north. Of course, he could easily see the massive spires that jutted out form the soft horizon of Toyokita. Once the queen had arrived on his beaches, he met her right there, and was absolutely smitten. They say his heart began to pump out of his chest, as hard as it could, as he turned red as a beet. In fact, the queen thought he was choking, and personally assisted him in calming him down, which lead the king to faint. Now, once he came to his senses, they did actually peacefully talk out terms of basic trade, and it was here that King Verge asked Queen Jaunoi to stay on the island, and marry him. This was out of the question for her, of course, and she politely refused, though she could not say she was not smitten by him... It was only when they finally came together in marriage that troubling information was brought to them... They were cousins of a shared family, both their surnames being traced to one: Vouvipalschut. They were perturbed by this slightly, but still went on to keep their marriage and have children. She birthed twins, and they argued over who would have what, until a declaration was drawn: "If twins are to be birthed by the Queen, they are to share the kingdoms, one for each island, up to their own discretion. If only one child is birthed, they will be given full control over the islands. Triplets are proceeded as twins, and the third child is.. well, no longer royal." This set of laws has stayed for as long since the first time the islands were married. Nowadays, there is a triplet birth. The firstborn son goes to the north, and the daughter to the south. We will primarily focus on the third-born, another daughter, who travels all across Noliterre as an 'exotic dancer', as she prefers. (Of course, I mean this only softly. She will be brought up, but the rulers of the Twins DOES take slight priority.)
