The Ne-Camvonian Army is a small but highly disciplined fighting force. Consisting of 125,000 men, it is arranged into five army groups consisting of 25,000 men each. Each army group contains two armies of 10,000 each and a specialized elite division of 5,000 men. These armies are kept up to the bleeding edge of technological advancement. The average foot soldier is equipped with a musket, standardized uniform and rations, a bayonet, and a short sword. The army also has divisions for dealing with artillery, especially the light, accurate types favored by the Camvonians, as well as units equipped with rudimentary gliders for scouting action and units for guarding supply trains. The army is drilled to perfection, so that they can return fire in even the most adverse circumstances. Since most of the guns, big and small, of the army are powered by pressurized air and steam, they can function effectively even in the rain. Each army has its own standard, and is led by an elite corps of paladins and other high-ranking officials. Soldiers are paid well, which keeps morale relatively high, and due to the small size and generally easy terrain of the empire are almost always well-supplied. In recent years, as the empire enjoys peace, the army has seen little action and increasingly relies on the navy and airfleet to keep it safe.
