Leoden Faust, now Divine Leoden, is the leader of the Holy State of the Sanctum at 38 years of age. He has little combat experience, although he has been trained with a sword by Grand Crusader Ivar, when neither of them had their fancy titles. His throne is in Lipsko, the holy city of the Sanctum. He is said to be in touch with the Omega, creator of the seas and Orctova.
Leoden Faust gained his title in the last decade of the 3rd Age, at the young age of 27. Since birth he has been seen as in touch with magic, so he, and by extension his family, were taken and housed in the Divine Palace of Lipsko so he could be trained in magic, the languages, the arts, diplomacy, and of course, the way of the Sanctum. Ever since he was old enough to think for himself, there was one issue he had that kept him up at night whenever it was on his mind: slavery. Slavery, in every way, was economically efficient, and he wasn't about to pretend it wasn't, but it did not keep with the morals of the Sanctum, even though the Divine State has for a long time took place in the act of and advocated for it. When he was properly instated after the death of the previous Divine, Maxilir, Divine Leoden pushed for a reform of the practice of slavery. By the time he reached the age of 35, the practice of slavery became less harsh, although not less sparse.
Leoden is a pacifist at heart, but when he deems a violent situation to inevitably occur, he will almost always make the first move. This is seen in the War of Ideologies of the 4th Age. Following what Orctova saw as expansionist, policing, and imperialistic acts coming from the Axial Alliance, Divine Leoden successfully reached out to all Sanctum nations to band together under one banner under his rule, and allowed for them to continue commencing with their own internal affairs. After an especially aggressive and violent display of denouncement between the Sanctum Divine and the leader of the Axial Alliance, Emperor Rowan IX of Neo-Camvonia, Leoden, with fear of Neo-Camvonia's global influence and power, declared war on Emperor Rowan and the Axial Alliance, despite the odds slightly stacked against his cause.
With the mysterious fall of two Orctovan nations, Leoden's anxiety of the future became ever more present within him. Desperate for any allies or decrease in Neo-Camvonia's allies, he resorted to diplomacy and words, his true weapon to be feared, and reached out to several nations:
Divine Leoden called all Orctovan nations to arms, but with a breakdown of diplomacy in the north of the continent, his plea was not well heard, and was answered only by his existing alliance and Upper Mliza, but Mliza would not actively join the war until much later.
He reached out to Partry in their unfortunate time of plague, offering them sanctuary and even a permanent territory in Orctova, but Partry's bond with Neo-Camvonia was too strong and Partry itself declared war on the Divine State during their last diplomatic meeting.
Leoden then contacted the Free State of Mithros, wary of their expansion into Orctova. Mithros did not want any conflict, but feared both Orctovan strength, as well as Neo-Camvonia's grasp. Mithros agreed to stage an offensive war, while in reality remaining a neutral entity.
As a sort of last resort, Leoden had the Crusaders reach out to the Taranta Tribes, hoping the legends of the mysterious sub-species of human were true. He was openly and bluntly threatened and blamed for the stress that was being put on the planet, as the Taranta elders explained. The Taranta declared war on the Axial Alliance because of an unusual amount of malice their elders sensed from the west, but would not agree to work in junction with the Sanctum Alliance.
