(Assuming this is the Fourth Age, I will come around in future events, but not right at this meeting between two people.)

"I see. We are always open to trade. What do you have to offer?"

Two crates of fine furs are dropped onto the Camvonian ships

"Ah. We do always have a need for furs. Would you take warships as a trade? We would construct them for you at a reduced price, and in return you trade with us your natural resources. The warships are just an incentive to give us a monopoly, of course. The goods you would be receiving in return for yours would be iron and coal, both of which are found in abundance here. We also have more gold than we know what to do with"

The kings eyes seem to light up at the mention of gold and warships "By Denglr, I beleive that you may have made yourself a good friend. Keep the furs as a gift"

"Excellent! Would you like to join us at the palace this evening for a private dinner to work out the details?"

Darrius looked dissapointed, he wanted to see cannon fire, soldiers boarding enemy ships, and how long it would take for the foreginer ships to be completely overwhelmed by Camvonian armies.

One thing I forgot to bitch about: when the mysterious ships raised flags and stuff, and andrew mentioned (they're trying to hail you) or whatever, numberhawk immediately used that knowledge to avoid battle, but how could have he known? tl;dr metagaming, don't do it.

(What would have happened would have happened. It's just that stuff like that (among other things) is what i've learned to avoid at all costs during my years of RP.)

(Sorry) The king returns to his ship, and a lookout cries out,"pirates in the harbor!" Laukko laughs and tells the representative, "We will take care of this"

"Please do. They're a nuisance, and our main fleet is out fighting a war"

The king shouts up the mast to a signalman who blows a series of blasts on the horn, prompting the other ships to convene on the pirates

(Meh, might as well play the pirates, for now, of course; if they die off, then I'll play someone else.)
"Hail, you pompous galleons!" comes a loud voice from the largest galleon. "I am Raklistath Vasizlav! I hail from a land far away, and my people yearn for gold! Do not resist, and your lives will be spared. For, you see, we have found a mighty weapon in our travels! We have tested it, but we would like to see how it fares against the King's ships!"
